This time I am giving you some information about the most frequently used idioms in everyday language. As you know, an expression that cannot be understood from the meanings of its separate words but that has a separate meaning of its own. Its main difficulty remains in the impossibility of being translated literally, they are like Spanish ‘refranes’ or ‘frases hechas’ and, as in the Spanish language, there are a lot of them.

Today we are going to have a look at phrasal verbs, a kind of verbs commonly used in everyday language which are really difficult for us to learn due to their particular morphology and diversity of meanings. Below their definition I give you some links to learn the most commonly used ones.
Phrasal verbs are usually two-word phrases consisting of verb + adverb or verb + preposition. Think of them as you would any other English vocabulary. Study them as you come across them, rather than trying to memorize many at once. Use the list below as a reference guide when you find an expression that you don’t recognize. The example sentences will help you understand the meanings. If you think of each phrasal verb as a separate verb with a specific meaning, you will be able to remember it more easily. Like many other verbs, phrasal verbs often have more than one meaning.
In the following days we are going to enjoy, one more year, the Carnival feast in our village. We always have a lot of fun during these dates but maybe we don’t know its origins and how it is celebrated in the different countries all over the world.
